Obedience means acting with acknowledgment of the authority someone has over you. With or without total understanding, being willing to act as directed.  

Sandi's definition is great.  I would add that our obedience should be birthed from a heart of love.  "If you love me, you will obey what I command."  To me, a huge component of my obedience is asking Him to give me a love for Him so I will have a heart to obey.

Hi there this is the first time I have been to your site. I guess I'm a little late, but to me obedience means: acquiescence, meekness, compliance and not thinking for yourself.   Unless of course, you're talking about obedience to God and in that case to me it means: devotion, duty and faithfulness.

I could not find a post where you said whether or not you regained custody of your son. I hope and pray that you did. Again, sorry I'm a little late I know.  I will pray for you any way
