Greetings and welcome to MindSay!
Haven't done this before – teaching English abroad – but the best advice I can give anyone teaching overseas is to research the modern and traditional culture of the place you're going so that you don't inadvertently step on any toes.

Yeah, the Chile TEFL program thru UCI will turn into a Master's program in 07 thru Andres Bellos. I have not completely ruled out yet returning to finish the Master's program. I think you will have fun here. In the previous semester, there was a mixture of ages participating. One lady was actually in her early 70`s I think.....she was super cool. One woman was 64, a 50-something yr old man, and a couple of 30 yr olds and the rest were in there 20`s. Four of the students were Chileans and the rest, like 12 of us, were from all over the U.S. Was a very interesting group. I am sure you will meet a lot of cool new people too.
Best wishes on your journey. Bring some music, magazine and newspaper articles in English for projects, lessons, etc with the students (that is if you are lucky enough to get a decent amount of practice in).
Ok..
later,
