YES! I'm all for the fuzzy people, for sure. I developed my allergies somehow and found I had them by accident, the hard way, by having roommates with pets. I kept choking and gagging and coughing for apparently no reason, it was scary. And I loved their rats! People used to say that the rats loved me back. Whenever I came into the room, they'd all gather up to the glass and start getting excited. My roomie, her name was Jen, said, "I think my rats like you better than me." When I later found out that an allergy to rodents was one of my problems, I was like, "Nooooo!" Their cuteness could've killed me!
But, yes, thanks for sharing the cuteness! Always appreciated 
Aww. Cute yet sad story. I had two rats at one point in time. Technically they were a roommate's but I cared for them and played with them till she moved. They were so smart & sweet.

I think it might be a combination of their dander, urine, and feces. Especially the feces. I'm really affected badly by mice especially. Both the wild and tame kind!
My roomies rats weren't always let out, 'cept by me, because I could sense they needed affection and attention. I had never really been around rats until then. They, too surprised me by how intelligent they are! No wonder scientists use them for experiments, I thought.
Ah! Ok. Mouse urine actually irritates my nose and makes it itchy. I love mice but can't stand their urine.
