Like many people I am amazed at the stars and fascinated at their cycles. I always keep track of when the moon is waxing and waning. It was a special treat last night to see the full lunar eclipse. We even threw a little party. My mom and my sister came over and we made curry, upside-down pineapple angel food cake & watched Stardust.

I was quite distracted always checking on or watching the moon. I did of course take pictures.

Here is the moon as the eclipse is covering it over half way. At that moment I was wishing I had a good telephoto lens. ;) I did have to use a filter because the moon was so bright.

It was still not totally eclipsed but you can see blueish star Regulus on the top right. Regulus is in the Leo constellation.

Not only was this eclipse a rare treat but we were also lucky enough to see Saturn & Regulus shining brightly right along side the moon. So doubly rare with lots of energy! I think that this build-up is what has caused a lot of relationship problems and drama these past couple of weeks. (If you believe in this stuff that is. ;) )

This is when it was totally eclipsed.

The total eclipse with Saturn and Regulus.

What a beautiful and awe inspiring sight. I'm thankful that I was witness to it.

At one point my fingers actually froze to my tripod. Haha. I had to go inside for 15 minutes at a time or else I would get frostbite!!

Thank you for checking my pictures out. It makes me happy you like them.

I'm so glad you captured this with your camera.  I couldn't get it well with my little digital point-and-shoot one.  It was a magical sight and I really felt the love.  There was some heavy duty energy going on, for sure.  I just soaked it all up!  If only it had been a little warmer, I would've loved to sit outside and watch it all night.  Snow caked up my skylight so I couldn't see it in my loft area.

Re: The Quickening Moon.
We went out to dinner last night, and when we came out the eclipse had started.  So we ended up watching the rest of it in the van, sitting in the parking lot of the church down the street.  Lol!  I wish I could've taken pictures, but all I have is a 7 megapixel kodak camera.  Besides, I would've wasted time running up to the house to get it.   Smiley

And I totally believe in astrology and stuff like that.  I don't know much about it, but the buildup of energy between Saturn and Regulus must be gone now, because I don't feel like a total Eeyore anymore.  Lol!
