I'm not sure how much is fair compensation dollar-wise, but part of the compensation should be,
"if the band gets famous, I expect VIP passes at every show I want to go to."
"if the band gets famous, I expect VIP passes at every show I want to go to."
Well, I would ask of a certain small percentage off CD manufacturing as royalties, not off their sales.
I'm not sure how much to ask for, but it's not unreasonable to ask for compensation for them using YOUR photo. I'll see what I can't find out for you.
try going to a like a yahoo answer and type that question in. The details I would provide be that you have a photo that's wanting to be used by a band for an album cover. Or even ask anyone who's know any lawyer type people since they kind of deal with things like this as well. From other stuff kind of related to this topic. I would also throw in what if they get really big or what not.
yes, you ask for compensation, straight up. It could be $50. It could be $100.
or whatever you want.
but you must ask for compensation, and make sure you add to your taxes, because it's all part of the publishing industry, as your name will get a credit somewhere.
btw, which photo are we talking about?
