"I shed no tears and there's no reason for shame
A small consolation hides a stone with her name
Just a victim, still the light shines on bright
I've got the picture, think I'll hold it tonight

Wave (wave) goodbye
See my heart...so blue
Wave (wave) goodbye
Lost for you"

I wanted to practice some macro photography on random items in my room. These are the results. (I gave them a vintage grain/feel to them. Other than that I didn't do much else to the pictures.)

Some of my fading flowers on my table. So little time for such a burst of color.

I love Maneki Nekos (Lucky cats)and these little fellows were in a small snack box. They were keychains but I ended up removing them from their chains. Each cat is in a costume representing something else. The first is obviously a frog. The second is disguised as a Daruma. Finally the third is dressed up as an Oni!

They are not any bigger than a penny and I put my measuring tape in the background as a reference. I would have put them on my cell phone but I already have two other maneki nekos on there. So they are on display on my shelf by my desk.

My lotus candle holder and my special rainbow colored string wrapped around a candle. (The string and candle belonged to my grandma. She originally wrapped the string around it.)

Tomorrow is the new month of April. I wonder what I will do for my layout? I've got to think of something and hopefully be quick about it. :P Let's hope that this new month will be productive, creative & positive!

i should shoot our faded flowers too

by the way...if you freed the cats from their keychains, won't they escape?

You should! I would love to see them.

I'll keep an eye on the cats. So far without their chains they seem strangely lethargic.

The grainy effect is so good.

About 25 years ago I did some still life of vegetables with that and I just love it.
It tells it's own story.  Is really nice with the depth of field too.

Thank you. I love still-life and macro. I thought they were very appealing before I added the grain to them but I knew they needed something else to make them "pop".

The grain adds the texture that makes them real

Re: A matter of time.
Being the fan of macro I am, I love these pictures.  I also love the post processing you did - including your little signature =)

Re: A matter of time.
I've always loved macro as well. Thanks! I figured I better put my signature on there. I have found a few of my pictures online that were taken before.

Good call on that part.  What did you do to give your pictures the antiquey feel?

I love the quote, it is how I feel right now, so thanks for sharing it with us!

You're welcome! It's lyrics from a song called "Spiraling". Let me see if I link to it.

Lovely, lovely pix!  Reminds me that I gotta upload more sometime myself...
Big rainy day today, but too much to do to go out and get wet.  Hope your day is swell!

Re: A matter of time.
My day was great. I slept in while enjoying the sounds of the spring shower. I'm feeling very productive since I did get that sleep. Got around to washing my sheets and blankets and did a load of dishes. It's always great to hear from you!!
