Anniversary of
Princess Diana death.
I saw the funeral procession on TV. I also saw the wedding on TV. The pageantry of both events, I feel, has not been topped since.
I didn't follow this lady. I didn't follow British politics or pop culture. I didn't follow any royalty concerns, etc.
What did strike me, and it still strikes me VERY hard today, is the tremendous hole she left in SO MANY people's lives. My mom had just recently died, and I felt that big hole in my life.
Here it was again being multiplied exponentially around the world, and boy did I feel it. The sadness, all the flowers, the silence, the respect, was deafening and humbling.
Regardless of whatever you feel about Lady Di, I think that if "I" went out like that - I would know that I made a difference/impact on the earth.world.
