I always try somethings once.  If I fail, ok, I'd have experience whether I wanted to try it again.  I used to be very good at hoola hoop.  Can't do it now.  I've also tried some of those "impossible" games at the amusement parks.  I've succeeded a couple of times, but (understandably) failed at all the other times.

Of course, there are things I'd never try no matter whether I'd fail or succeed.
