Just watched a Discovery Channel show on caves. There was a cave with a mound of bat dropping (guano) 300 feet high - crawling with fresh eating cockroaches.

Hope no one is eating now.

It was the Cave episode on the Planet Earth show. I can't even imagine a 300 foot high pile of poo!

Oh, and I add - noxious fuses and a wonderful "poo" like smell!

I once worked for the Longhorn Caverns near Kingsland/Marble Falls, Texas. I learned an amazing amout of detail about guano. And the removal of it to make the caves fit for tourists. Ugh!

That would be cool. I haven't been to that one although I always wanted to. I have been to Carlsbad though. Wow! Talk about mag!!
