"The findings indicate that exercise on a miniature trampoline may provide a safe, adequate indoor exercise for normal and many cardiac patients of varied ages, if guidelines concerning rate of stepping and height of knee lifts are adhered to."

-Journal of Medical Science for Sport and Exercise, 1980; 12:118-

Studies have proven that in just 20 minutes a day, 3 times a week, rebound exercise melts pounds of fat away without any pain or stress on your joints. And it’s so much fun it’s the first exercise you’ll actually look forward to! It also improves your balance and coordination and is a very safe form of exercise. When bouncing properly your feet barely leave the surface. You don’t jump high, you jump strong. People with balance concerns can use the stabilizing bar until balance and coordination are improved. Rebounding is a safe, extremely effective and fun form of exercise that is suitable for people of all ages, from toddlers to seniors.

N.A.S.A. has been using rebounding to train their astronauts for years. In fact a N.A.S.A study called rebounding a “miracle exercise”. N.A.S.A. found that rebounding was 68% more efficient than treadmills or other forms of exercise. N.A.S.A. also found rebounding to be helpful in rebuilding the bone mass and muscle mass that astronauts lose in the weightlessness of space. The Cornell Hospital for Special Surgery found in their study on rebound exercise that participants who used the Rebounder for 20 minutes a day, 3 times a week for one month showed nearly a 70% improvement in balance and coordination. A growing number of authors are devoting whole chapters to the benefits of rebounding. Motivational speaker Tony Robbins discusses rebound exercise in his book “Unlimited Power”.

There is no better time than the present to begin taking care of yourself.

Re: Melt Away pounds and fat

Hi there. Reading your blog, it seems as if you already have a pretty fair idea on how to care properly for your health. I notice that you like water which is great news. Using common sense in weight loss is critical. I cannot stress portion control enough and if you are eliminating fatty, sugary and starchy foods from your diet, or at the very least, just eating them once in a while and not to excess, you will be fine. Get movement into your life with some kind of regular exercise, rebounding is fun, easy and very, very, efficient. Walk a little more than you usually do, you can do what I call "microwave exercises". While you are waiting for your food or beverage to warm up you can use those minutes to do squats, arm curls, facial exercises or whatever takes your fancy. Most of all use your head. Don't to lose weight overnight. It is incredibly bad for you and can cause health problems down the road. All you need is"

1.       Movement- begin an exercise program that is fun, exciting and that will keep your attention. Add extra movement into your day by walking those extra steps in parking lots, taking the stairs, etc.

2.       Resistance- purchase a pair or two of soft ankle weights and wear them at night while you are moving around the house. I wear them on wrist and ankles while rebounding.

3.       Eat fewer calories than you expend. And eat more whole foods. Try to stay away from processed foods and soft drinks.

4.       Good supplements. Take your vitamins!

5.       Drink lots of water, green tea or juices.

Easy isn't it?

Good luck with all of your endeavors and please feel free to write anytime you have questions and I will do whatever I can to help.
