Re: Missing someone
A person is referred to as a "who".
A thing is referred to as a "that".

"...someone here who..."
"...a computer that..."

Re: Missing someone
His use of english doesn't seem that important by comparison

Re: Missing someone
Sooooo, you want me to say ".. just wanted to share who" ? /me is lost o_O

I wanted to share that I miss her, I don't see how your comment relates to anything?!

Re: Missing someone
My comment relates to English... you know, that language you're writing in which has specific rules of usage like all other languages. How much clearer can that be as far as what it relates to?

If you wanted to share that you miss here, then all the more poignant to show her respect by using proper English which refers to a person as a person and not an object.  It's who/whom versus that.

Re: Missing someone
Fixed it for you. Your sarcasm and down right rude behavior is totally uncalled for, you criticize me then use '...' in your last post, plus your typo, 'miss here', maybe for your own good, when bothering people that have nothing to do with you about grammer, you may want to use spell check yourself before you post. Just something that maybe you should think about.

Re: Missing someone
I'd like to give her the credit of being one who isn't easily offended by minor typos or errors, there's more important things than that. It's not as if he was hard to understand either, all that matters as far as communication goes is that you know what the person means

Re: Missing someone
Blogs are about word. If you think it can all be reduced to a mere transmission of meaning then draw pictures or scribble bathroom-wall poetry.
Language is communication, English is the primary language being used here. The issue was not "minor typos" or "errors". The issue was the usage of English grammar. The practice of sixth-grade grammar.

Offended, I'm not offended. There is a whole generation who never writes letters, seldom reads without being required to do so. Communicates mostly through snippets of text and generally has a total disregard and/knowledge of even the most basic rules of grammar and syntax.

As for "feelinguninspired" and here crybaby reaction... I don't care what you think. If you read sarcasm and rudeness that's your call.

Look, I am a fairly long-time resident pain-in-the-as here and I am always right... so get used to it already.

You may  consider that in most of  the rest of the civilized world a high-school diploma is nearly the equivalent of a US undergraduate degree.

Re: Missing someone
I would say instead that blogs, (and life) are about feelings - what else is capable of giving life any meaning at all? Words are merely a method of communicating and expressing feelings, like when you read inspiring poetry or listen to powerful music, it's using words to inspire feelings. If we were telepathic, we could communicate feelings without words, at that point it'd cease to matter.
Without feelings, blogs would become words for wordsake, what meaning could that have?
This entry is just a communication of feelings, as long as they reach their destination, it's done it's job, that is all he or her care about.
In all this I'm trying to say there are more important things - what you express is more important than how you express it - what would you rather recieve - a poorly written but genuine love note, or a well written and also genuine death threat? See for yourself, most people tend to care far more about substance over style when it comes to what you say.

Even if you're not offended, it obviously bothers you enough, otherwise you wouldn't be saying this. You don't need to put him down either to make your point. I simply don't know what a US undergrad degree involves, I have a UK one, but it'd be wrong of me to draw conclusions about places I haven't been without the information.

Re: Missing someone
I have high school deploma, and a college certificate, plus I do love to read as well as write. I see, you are just being you, that is fine. I was insulted, just saying 'hey man, it is someone WHO is away for a couple weeks' would have been a much nicer way to get your point across. That is not the way you do things I am guessing, so I am over it.

Think what you want of me and my use of the english language, or my level of education, at least I don't feel a need to insult or belittle others to make me feel better about myself.

Just a side note, how come I never see you trying to help all the people's blogs that are full of 'how r u' , 'wut' and such, just wondering, what drew you to my blog? What did I do that made you feel the need to correct me and well, attack me as well? Just wondering, not that it matters that much, I suppose.

Tell her, whatdya got to lose? I think she'll understand, and it'd probably be a boost for her to feel wanted
