Weird dream this morning, when I went back to sleep after my  husband got up. I dreamt I was outside with a bunch of people and I found a bird, it was trapped, I began to help it loose, it was a fairly good sized bird, I am not entirely sure what kind of bird it was, it was kind of gray, with bold brown and white feathers... and I had to be very very careful of its beak so I wouldnt get bitten and I got it loose, and everyone expected me to keep it as a pet, and I said, NO.. it needed to be free, so I opened the door to let it go..

and it wouldnt go, and I kept nudging it to go, finally it clung to the screen door but still wouldnt fly and leave me, I kept closing the door leaving little room between the bird and the opening, til the bird was 'forced' to let go of the door... but as it let go of the door, it left behind its wings.. I was horrified..the bird had broken both of its wings off. I scooped it up to protect it, and was trying to find out if/how does a bird regrow both wings.

Then I woke up darn it.

Interesting dream. After looking online at some pics, I think it was actually this bird, a Falcon:

Some interpretations from various sites online:

Bird

Birds are usually considered a very good omen for the dreamer to receive and this is doubly true if the birds are brightly colored, singing, and flying about. Dead ,or dying, birds foretell a period of coming disappointments and worries, while dreaming of the beak of a bird means you will soon change your place of residence.

To see a wounded bird, is fateful of deep sorrow caused by erring offspring.

The Falcon: ( Incredible this is the EXACT bird I saw in my dream.. one day I will have to share how I came to find out about Reiki..thru a dream.. many many of my dreams speak truth and revelation into my life, so I dont take them lightly!)

Mental Speed, Agility and Grace

Falcon teaches control of speed and movement.
It shows how to recognize opportunities and act upon them at only the correct moment. Watching a Falcon will show you to fully commit and when to act
to achieve success.
People with Falcon totems like to be a position where they can see everything around them. Study Falcon to use your mental facilities more effectively and more patiently
to attain what you most need and desire.

People with a Falcon totem also might want to explore past-life connections;
Kings and royalty handled Falcons and there might be a past life connection.
Totems often come into one lifetime and then stay for many more lives after that.

I'm sitting here trying to write an interesting response but I'm too tired to think. . So through twangs of sleep jealousy I'll say what an interesting dream, glad you weren't traumatised by injuring the bird, it probably ended because that's exactly as much information as you need.

Margaret Atwood- A Bird in the House.....short story...good read, if ya can find it, worth it...might help you with your interpretations

The ole prairie folks used to say, a bird in the house meant a death in the family...

Also, the Falcon, is a hunting bird, highly trainable and loyal, but still a skilled assassin...of sorts...

I thought that someone is in need of you; you want to let them go, but they do not want to go as they are wounded and still in need of you.  By letting them go prematurely, you may be causing harm....

Hope all is well with your son, whereever he may be, Dawn.

i like the wore, "nestle"...do so, my friend...

somehow, God gives me the instant definition of dreams from time to time, but of course, not all the details...that is for you to figure out..such as who this person is...

love and praying for you, dear friend....

i loved those words of encouragement about doing things even tho we are not necessarily the best bird in the woods...

it encouraged me to play the piano even tho I am not as good as the praise team leader...i can go to nursing homes, or play in our home group where no one knows any better

it encouraged me to write stories and poems and try to get them published even tho I may not be another hemmingway...

encouraged me to promote my business and give the gift of health and wellness to others, and who knows?  I may just make some money, to boot!

thank you dawn...i appreciate you.
