April 27,2007  17 Days after his Death

I guess all of you know I am suing the manufacturer of Pall Mall cigarettes, because their product did not kill me, and mow I am eighty four.
Listen:
I studied anthropology at the University of Chicago after the second world war,
the last one we ever won.
And the physical anthropologists, who had studies human skulls going back maybe thousands of years said we were only supposed to live 35 years or so, because that is how long our teeth would last without modern dentistry.

Weren't those the good old days: thirty-five years or so, and we are out of here. Talk about intelligent design! Now all the Baby Boomers who can afford dentistry and health insurance, poor bastards, are going to live to be a hundred!

Maybe we should outlaw dentistry. And maybe doctors should quit curing pneumonia, which used to be called the old peoples' friend".....

Re: Kurt on Smoking (Gospel of Kurt)
Kurt Vonnegut was one of the world's most amazing people.  I remember reading Slaughterhouse 5 when I was about 15 and shortly afterwards inhaled everything of his I could get my teenage hands on.

He was so intelligent and so funny.  I have so much respect for him.

I was in shock when he died.  He always seemed like one of those people that would be around forever.  When I read about his death, my throat closed and tears came to my eyes.

Thank you for posting this!  It brought a smile to my face.

Re: Kurt on Smoking (Gospel of Kurt)
You have no idea how much this has made my day. I literally just walked in from having stressful phone conversations with my mom then my boyfriend (also, have I mentioned I'm going to a WEDDING this evening? Oh yay) to see that you've posted my most favorite writer ever ever. It is the first thing that has made me really smile today. Thank you! <3

Re: Kurt on Smoking (Gospel of Kurt)
The wedding had no booze. Watching two people pledge their "undying love" to one another without the aid of alcohol was painful. Also, the unity candle went out when they tried to light it. I'm leaving that one alone. Was thinking of blogging about it, but it might depress me to the point of sticking my own head in the oven.

In other words, any more ghost posts from Kurt would be wonderful =)

Re: Kurt on Smoking (Gospel of Kurt)
The night before I got married a movie opened called  "Time to Run".
Except for my two wonderful kids I think it might have been appropriate at times.

I posted another Kurt Blog last night
