I can't believe it took them so long to get back. I mean...people will A) watch them anyway cuz they're "live" and B) they're SUPPOSED to be good at this schtick.
Well, it's a little more complicated because these guys are all Writer's Guild members themselves... I think they felt that had to take their shows off for at least a while to show solidarity with the union. Now that they're back on, even THEY can't really write anything for themselves, which means they basically have to go live with no script or cue cards. Keeps it interesting...
I can understand it not being as high grade as it was with writers but let's not forget something...these guys are comedians. They themselves ought to be able to cook up some ideas and if they can't then it suggests to me that just about anybody can step in and do their job.
I expect to see the interviews with guests go a little bit longer and they might have a few more comedians in to do sets. It could turn out to be a very good time for up-and-coming comedians.

I agree.... good for comedians AND musical guests. As for the amount of stuff they can really do for themselves - check out my answer to sandyquill above.
while i dont like the writers strike, i think its healthy for these comedians to have to come out and do it "on their own". this might separate the men from the boys as far as true comediac ability is concerned!
Definitely... the only thing that gets complicated is that they're all members of the writer's guild as well... limits what they can do, even with their own abilities.
