1. Remember you brought kids with you to the damn store!
That's right, they are still yours even when they aren't in your house. I know Hilary may have confused you with that whole "village to raise a child" thing but rest assured that when you enter a shop, an eatery or any other retail outlet your children still belong to you. The "villagers" working at that particular place can't parent your kids for you because they just so happen to be at WORK.
2 Don't ask for a manager when someone embarrasses your half-assed parenting style with the question "whose child is this?" as loud as they can yell it. The manager is only manager of that store and NOT the manager of all organic and non-organic matter. That's right those
GIANT salaries only pay for so much.
3. Unless you walked into Rand McNally, don't huff and puff when the person folding shirts or dusting picture frames doesn't know how to direct you to the nearest Cin-A-Bon. Google that shit like every other person on this big, less and less blue marble. Sales persons are not part Garmin for crying out loud.
4. It may shock you to know that no one actually lives in the store you're visiting. So don't crawl out of your bored apathetic hidey-hole and act all full of shock and awe when we don't remember you buying whatever crap you bought six months, weeks, days or even minutes ago. When you left the store picking your ass and drinking your big gulp so too did the memory of you.

Of course I know that all shoppers are not like this but this is a rant, not and Ode so get over yourself before you tell me all the terrible shit that retail workers have done to you.
Fun fact---Most sales associates have to bend over and take monster damage from shoppers on the regular.
And don't give that shit about finding another job, why dont people act like they have some damn home training then it wouldnt matter what job a person worked since we would all be behaving like we've been some frakking where in our damn lives!

End of Rant.
Smooches....

Re: Retail Rant #297 Shopping 101 Bad Language
Oh...I just hate when people let their little monsters to the store and subject other shoppers to their ill behavior!
They only complaint I have about store clerks is when they have no clue about their own departments.

Exactly, for some reason some people think that their children are everyone's problem.

Your note on retail workers is noted but this was a rant about shoppers only. My rant about sales people is coming next. A lot of times sales associates never stay in one department long enough to learn anything, especially now with all the layoffs. Associates are working multiple departments and having to train themselves.

This is why I don't work retail. I don't have patience for grown folks acting like asses.

Believe me I completely hear you! I saw a woman showing her ass yesterday at a T.J. Max. Her kid was crawling under people's fitting room stalls and someone had to shame her into watching her kid!

Re: Retail Rant #297 Shopping 101 Bad Language
When my child acts up in the store, I give her a warning.  If it happens again, I or my husband immediately take her outside to the car.  She hasn't done that in a few years (these were the 2-4yr old days), she's 8 now and has learned the consequences of her tirades.  Please note: I AM NOT one of those "spanking your child is abuse" people. I have spanked her when she was younger and incapable of discussing her behavior and the consequences.  Now, I feel she is old enough to implement other tools of dicipline.  If only more parents would stop using spanking as the ONLY parenting tool, thier children may still listen to them.  It's a chain reaction.  Child acts up, parent yells and spanks.  Ok.  Child didn't like it, but it wasn't bad enough to not act up again.  So the child acts up again.  Parent spanks again.  Child acts up again....going nowhere with this.  Eventually parent gets tired of doing the same thing and gives up before the child does.  They feel like nothing is working not thinking they're only trying one thing. Wow, I really didn't mean to write so much. lol! Anyway, I work at the county jail...talk about dealing with misbehaving children!  It's worse than a daycare.

I'll have to disagree there Jailmail...

Most parents now days are too lily-livered to give a "proper" spanking or one at all!

They believe a "time out" will resolve any proplems.  Ttthhhbbbttt!!!

I would have laughed my ass silly had my parents ever given me a time out!!

But I sure as hell remember the times my psycho-bitch-from-hell mother used her favorite studded belt - the scars are still there!!

I promise that if a child is gived a spanking that they remember for weeks, it will end that behaviour.

The old adage " Spare the rod, spoil the child " is still applicable today.
