Howdy Howdy all!

Well I haven't been feeling like myself lately. I dont know why, maybe school withdrawls or something. I wanted to go camping at the end of this month in hopes of recharging my battery. On the plus side I spoke with one of my professors this morning and he actually told me that I earned a 95 on my research paper on Dianetics. SWEET! I knew I would earn an A in his class as I did all of my 3 classes this semester.

Anyway I wanted to go camping over the memorial day weekend but alas everything is booked. Oh well, No matter, I plan to do something outside no matter the weather in order to clear my head. Any Suggestions?  I better start kicking around some ideas huh? I just feel kinda blah ya know???? Anyway I have decided to medicate myself with a lot of recreational reading, the next book on the list is one a fellow mindsayer let me borrow earlier this year, "Comanches" by T.R. Fehrenbach. Should be a good and informative read. Thanks bro! Don't worry, I won't sully the pages with ink.

Poetry time....here goes.....

Speak Gently

Speak gently! -- It is better far
To rule by love, than fear --
Speak gently -- let not harsh words mar
The good we might do here!

Speak gently! -- Love doth whisper low
The vows that true hearts bind;
And gently Friendship's accents flow;
Affection's voice is kind.

Speak gently to the little child!
Its love be sure to gain;
Teach it in accents soft and mild: --
It may not long remain.

Speak gently to the young, for they
Will have enough to bear --
Pass through this life as best they may,
'T is full of anxious care!

Speak gently to the aged one,
Grieve not the care-worn heart;
The sands of life are nearly run,
Let such in peace depart!

Speak gently, kindly, to the poor;
Let no harsh tone be heard;
They have enough they must endure,
Without an unkind word!

Speak gently to the erring -- know,
They may have toiled in vain;
Perchance unkindness made them so;
Oh, win them back again!

Speak gently! -- He who gave his life
To bend man's stubborn will,
When elements were in fierce strife,
Said to them, "Peace, be still."

Speak gently! -- 't is a little thing
Dropped in the heart's deep well;
The good, the joy, which it may bring,
Eternity shall tell. --David Bates

I have no idea on what you can do outside other than camping or hiking - other than maybe just relaxing & soaking up some rays....

But thats an awesome poem.  You are so awesome to always share a poem... Thanks for taking the time to do that.

You could still probably go on a nice day hike somewhere right? That can't get "overbooked".

If you like learning then college is a lot of fun and not nearly as hard as folks think! You will do VERY well I am sure!

I just read The Monkey Wrench Gang and thoroughly enjoyed it. Except for the very last two pages.

It's by Edward Abbey-- it's fiction, a fantasy of his, I think. Some parts may have been based on real-life events. He was a mystery, that one.

4 people meet and decide to "monkey wrench" which means to sabotage development and developers. It's based in Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. The suspense builds as they have many near-catches: moments in which the authorities are within inches of arresting them. And in the end... well, you'll have to read it.

It's quite funny. And his vernacular is amazing. Inventive, actually. I'm surprised it hasn't been turned into a screenplay yet. The character development is pretty good considering he's dealing with four people.

I highly recommend it.
