They (the infinite marketing gods of capitalism) find all new ways to market products. And the companies find all new ways to make all new products that we simply must!have!now!and!can!never!live!without!again!
Apparently, they find all new ways to make our lives magnificent.
I really like this story
I don't have much to add directly, so I'm just going to comment on trash bags, since I've also been cleaning. They actually have a thickness. I had no idea until recently.
So those flex bags are something like 1.1 - 1.3 "mil" thickness.
Industrial bags are anywhere from 2 "mil" to 3 "mil" thickness.
And inexpensive bags - that you can get 100 for $2 or something - are usually 0.3 to 0.5 "mil" in thickness.
Even worse, I saw recently a bag that had thick handles. As in, the marketing people were actually advertising that the portion of the bag used to tie a knot and carry it outside is "1.3 mils" whereas the rest of the bag is ".9 mils"
But yeah, I really don't understand the flex bags at all. They are marketed as if it were used on a space shuttle. And the marketing is appealing to me somehow, even though I don't buy the bags. I actually regret not buying the flex bags. Grrrrr. I hate marketing people.
PS: Sorry about alll the bag talk. I am cleaning up after a dog and a move so I'm throwing out heavy junk. The thick bags allow me to just drag them to the trash thingamabob, which is why I know this useless knowledge
