Imagine, if they don't flush, what else they don't do?
Well.. I'll be honest with you...
I have an extreme phobia (which I still have to this very day) of bathrooms (public, private, and/or otherwise). So when I was little I didn't flush the toilet because I was too scared to.. Granted, I've gotten better so I flush, but I do't spend any extra time in a bathroom than absolutely necesary.
I doubt any of your second graders have this problem, but its an interesting fact...
Part of me thinks that the actual flusher is too hard to push for some of them, and that SOME of the issue stems from there.
Other parts of me just think they're too lazy.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew.
I'm trying to force them to wash their hands a few times a day in my room, since Swine Flu is apparently running around ... EXCITED!

When I took my student on the trip last week (2 weeks ago?), we all ate meals together in the lunch room, 3 a day. And as you walked into the room, they had wall pumps full of hand sanitizer. Just a quick as you go through the door, squirt some into your hand and keep moving.
Already talked to my principal about trying to get those installed for our cafeteria; would LOVE one in my room. I have the regular-sized bottles, but I think the wall-pump would be SO badass.

Oh no. My kids provide ME with plenty of material.
Not ALL of it is bathroom related, but.... still interesting.
Peace,
Emily
