congrats!!!

Not official yet, but thank you. I right now told the special ed director/HR person/whoever they finally patched me through to that he needed to tell ______ (Nathan?) that they were hiring ME, and then they'll call me when a contract is drawn up and then I have to go in and sign it, so there hasn't been a celebration yet.
You will know about it when it is official

my i can see why. but hang in there and keep chanting "patiences is a virtue." lol
my fingers.....they are still crossed
um, wow. have you tried calling them??
i think id make a few phone calls to make sure you didnt get lost in the shuffle anywhere.
After all this fun waiting, I called HR to be like 'WTF, Northampton School District?!!', and the woman I spoke to was like, "Um... we don't do contracts anymore. We haven't in years". So apparently... I'm just hired?
I don't know if that's a GOOD thing, like, what if they're something totally dick that happens and I can't fight it because I didn't sign a contract (but... I didn't sign the contract agreeing to it....). I dunno. I meet with her on the 20th, and that's one of my questions.
That and Health Insurance.

Mucha Gratzi!
I'm still going with 'technically employed'; I meet with the 'benefits' counselor of the district on the 20th, and I'm gonna ask A LOT of questions regarding the whole 'teaching without a contract' thing. Because we get screwed enough in my profession; I need to at least know that in theory, I'm entitled to fair things.
I am def going to need the luck you wished; I'm not sure how I'm going to simultaneously teach kindergartners, first graders, third graders, and fifth graders. Seems a bit high on the impossible list, but we'll go with it. Wing & a prayer.

Thank you, thank you.
I am unfortunately not official yet. Waiting to see a written contract to make it definite.

You might be in my neck of the woods! I work in Northampton. Or what us locals call, "noho".

Not in a long time. Well... I went for a concert in April, but that was it. I have to get there soon for some school meetings, like on the 10th.
