God... you like... Never get on.
I know, I know;
life's been pretty crazy lately. I don't have internet at my new apartment yet (it's coming soon), so the only place I can log-on usually is at work. And as you can imagine, that's not exactly encouraged because I'm supposed to be at work .... working, thinking of the children, being professional, etc.
I'm at my parents house typing this, but otherwise... gonna be another gap.
How are you??

Yeah... I remember you talking about it... But it doesn't mean people on mindsay don't miss you.
Awww.
I'm good. Everything's been really busy.
How far away is he from where you live?
Also, how is it 11 o'clock aka almost bedtime, aka, how the heckkkkkk did I not get to do anything tonight?

Oh wow; I thought you guys were an hour apart, max.
*How the heck did you meet, then? Like...a camp romance!?!? That was my dream when I was younger.

Aw; cyberspace romance! At this point, I'd like ANY type of romance
It's funny I'm replying to this thread today, because last night I went to a concert to see the band I 'wrote it' to.
And they were sooooooooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooooooooood.

New Found Glory.
As I wrote in the entry, like a month ago, I have been waiting to see them FOREVER. I mean, I saw them when I was in high school, 2 or 3 times, but it was always because they were opening for bands I really wanted to see, ala Blink-182 or Green Day. I knew a few songs by them, and when they were on stage, had fun watching them, but I wouldn't say 'fan'.
Then about 2 years ago, I was in my dorm room and I was like, 'know who I wanna listen to right now? NFG', so I put on the 10 - 15 songs I owned, and my roommate and I had fun rocking out. Then I was like, 'I wonder if they're still together/still play/touring' and I looked, and they WERE. They were actually playing in NYC that night, but I had plans and couldn't go. Sad, so I decided to just listen to the music again.
And then realized... I really like them. Get a lot of energy from them, go to the gym with them, etc. Started buying CDs, etc etc.
So then I REALLY wanted to see them live. I got tickets last Sept. to do so, but deep in NJ, and we had to leave before they got on stage... not even a note
. Then I saw them in May at this thing called the Bamboozle, which was a concert where bands covered other bands' music, so though it was their bodies and voices and instrumentation, they were playing Green Day songs, not their own. And I'm not complaining, because they kicked ASS at it, but they were playing the tour the next day as themselves...but of course, I couldn't be there.
But Sunday, it happened. Had to drive 2 hours each way for the privilege, but it was beyond excellent. I'm not home right now, but I'll try to post pictures soon.

I'm so very glad, too!
I'm also realizing that life works itself out in weird ways. I didn't know it at the time, but not planning to go see them again later this year was actually a good thing.
They were going to be playing with Dashboard Confessional a few times, and I've never seen Dashboard live, and I <3 NFG, so I was like 'oh, I wanna see that tour, also!'. Except I live in bumblefuck, and they're not playing here. I was going to go down to NY and miss a day of work, but wasn't really excited about that. And then I was going to fly the day after Thanksgiving to see them play ... in Florida. This was my dream, so I could be WARM in November AND see 2 great bands. I really wanted to do this.
I found out today that Dashboard had to drop out of the tour. So Thank G-d I didn't buy those tickets, ey?

It WAS a neat little thing that happened
I deeeeeeeeeeeefinitely wish that other tour was still happening, but I'll take my memories : )

I had to drive 2 hours in each direction to get to see them. So the show ended around 11, and I of course didn't leave EXACTLY when the last note was played, so I didn't get back to my apartment until almost 1, and then even though I immediately put on PJs and got into my bed, I needed to decompress being so happy getting to see them (concerts in general get me amped), so it was probably about 2 when I fell asleep.
And I got up at 6:04, regular time, and then had to go on a 4-day trip with a student of mine. So sleeping less than usual was NOT smart.

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus.
I was just elated yesterday, because they're playing a Sunday show in New Haven, and that's about an hour's drive from me; doable, even though I might be zonked at work on Monday.
THENN I was like 'wait...didn't I just sign up for a PD day that Monday!?! Like, I could kinda take the day off and be leisurely and not with students on Oct. 19 to recover?!! EXCELLENT!"
PD day is Tuesday, the 20th.... so Monday I WOULD be exhausted. But I'm still willing to do it
ALSO debating flying to Florida the day after T-Giv with a friend from South Carolina to see them. Just because I will need a break from the cold, a chance to see her, and oh yeah ... music.
