WOW!!!! You're an ARTIST!!!!!!
I am soooo hungry right now!!!!
I am soooo hungry right now!!!!Heh, I had to crop the picture so you can't see the messy kitchen! But I am forever thankful to you for introducing me to this dish...it's now one of our favorites, and I wouldn't have known about it if you hadn't gotten stuck in a traffic jam and made a detour and posted about your surprise feast!
It's funny that it's so easy to make but seems fancier than it is...everyone seems to think it must've taken hours to make, ha ha.

OK, here is the whole picture...there's all sorts of crap around the plate that shouldn't be there! A bag of hot dog rolls, plastic bags, pots and pans...heh heh. My brother usually takes more care to have neutral backgrounds when he photographs things, but I think he was just really hungry and threw the plate down anywhere.

Italian lessons! Yay! I'm looking forward to the next one!

yay! I thought the background was actually pretty fun, plus the light upstairs was good from the kitch window. Seemed more authentic and Memorial Day in spirit! Too bad I don't have a real table by the window, like a normal house. I want to get one of those red-checkered table cloths!
What works about the arrangement, in my opinion, is that it looks natural and edible. So you did a great job with it. It was hard to concentrate and not actually eat it :-)

Heh, real food...what a concept! I guess it doesn't help that we see so many cooking shows like Iron Chef where the art of "plating" is so important.
Actually, the real reason I had to crop the photo was because it was the only way the picture would fit...usually I have no problem resizing photos in blog entries, but for some reason this one was misbehaving. It would look fine in the draft, but when published it would be 1) cut off or 2) smaller, but distorted. Resizing the actual photo in a different program made me lose resolution. I'm not sure if it's the photo server or Mindsay that's the problem. For some reason the whole photo is fine when inserted in a reply though...I don't get it.
Looks divine....
we went to azteca last night-- inexpenive, great food with a light handed portion control, slightly sloppy presentation and kindly, but slow as molasses service with a wide open smile.... ( i had to ask for napkins 4 times-- then G went and got them...then 10 minutes later she finally brought some over...) $29-, and that included flan, full meals, and drinks.......
