As you know I participated in the Tea Parties a couple months ago for my own reasons that were mostly shared by others in the Charlotte community. However, I am refusing to participate this time around. There are supposed to be even more people this time, but there will be more minus one.
The best part about the Fourth is that Americans can actually get along for a change. One day out of the year. You won't see it on any other day. There's Thanksgiving, but I barfed on Thanksgiving once and that ain't fun. Independence Day is for everyone (unless you're a Native American).
Take the time to celebrate the freedom and opportunity you have here in America, because millions of people in other places will never get to have it. Sure we're far from perfect, but we've got a hell of a lot to be thankful for.
So instead of protesting in uptown, I'll be by the lake with a good friends and good food. With Sam Adams of course.
