Let's Americanize Antonio!

Yes people...this is me taking a look at my new residence. It’s almost time to move to DC. This pic was taken right before I stepped inside to ask Barack if he wants his kids to be tutored in philosophy. He didn’t give me an answer... he was too busy talking with Michelle about the new furniture....some Christmas decorations seemed to be way too Liberace...ya know, typical discussions between husband and wife...so, I told them that I’ll be back!
In the meantime, I am getting ready for the NEW ADVENTURE ...I am trying to “Americanize” myself....ACTUALLY, antipodes  invented the “LET’S AMERICANIZE ANTONIO” GAME while we were having Thanksgiving dinner. She said that even though I know a lot about the US -  I know the language, I know most of the traditions, I’ve been working for an American College for a very long time, etc - there are CERTAIN THINGS that one who was raised outside of the US can’t possibly know!!! She started a list (...and other people helped her): Visiting the Busch Gardens, grabbing lunch at IN-N-OUT, having some BALONEY and CHEESE SANDWICHES....some people said, “WHAT ABOUT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MASCOTS???” ... they went on and on listing typically American things...and I only had a VAGUE idea of what they were talking about.
So, if  you want to join in and PLAY THE GAME...please do so....come up with TYPICAL American things...

Oh, by the way, I did something very EUROPEAN yesterday... I went to a mall owned by the MAFIA with an old friend of mine to watch a soccer game. The place was packed with people doing  last-minute-Christmas- shopping. While my friend and I were talking about the old days in college, a guy approached us and said, “Can I tell my wife I went to College with you, and met you guys after many years? I’d love to watch the game...carrying bags is not exactly my thing”.
We agreed....even though the conversation with his wife was pretty lame....
The game was lame too... but I found out about THE BEST COFFEE EVER....IL CAFFE’ DEL NONNO (it means “Grandpa’s Coffee”)...the name makes no sense...but it is SOOO GOOD!!! If there’s a “Little Italy” near you, GO BUY IT...this is what it looks like...YUM...
