Their fights are very VIBRANT and flirt with people's lowest instincts. When the talk shows are over, ALL THE POLITICIANS go to parties together, pull over their limos at the same fancy restaurants, go to the same plastic surgeon...and MOST IMPORTANTLY, they have a fair share of the huge business they are part of
That's how it is here too. Regardless of whether it is Hilary Clinton, John McCain, Barack Obama, Ron Paul or whoever, they all have much more in common with each other than they do with me and are apt to look out for each other's interests over mine.
That's why I don't waste my time supporting or not supporting political candidates. I have to spend my time more wisely: looking out for myself and keeping my head above water regardless of which figurehead is in charge.

Right, but even though the US is facing a crisis, American people are rather well off; you don't have people in their late 40s living with their parents 'cause they can't afford to get their own place. Finding (even) underpaid jobs in Italy is almost impossible...the country is POOR....and is moving very fast towards a total catastrophe.
I JUST HOPE PEOPLE WON'T DIE IN THE STREETS.

Yeah...same shit. Even though Americans are still able to plan a life on their own at age 18. Most Italians are forced to live with their parents even when they're in their 40s...and things are getting even worse.
Here in America, we don't vote for candidates we like, we vote against the politicians we hate the most.
I guess people will be able to do that as long as they're able to bring the bacon home!!! When they run out of bacon (like the Italians)...things will be SLIGHTLY different!!! 
Very true. I believe the Romans had a saying, although I'm not sure of the exact phrasing, that people will let the government do whatever it wants as long as they get their bread and circuses.
