I got the new Green Day album...I actually had it a few weeks before it came out...shhh don't tell. It is one of the most intelligent punk albums I have heard in a long time. I have been following Green Day since my high school days. This is by far their best album. It is called American Idiot. Fitting title since a lot of it has to do with the people that currently run this country. It is like a rock opera or punk opera if you will. Sort of like The Who's Tommy, for those of you who know who they are. It tells a story and if you are going to listen to the album I strongly suggest you listen all the way through.  So many different styles and even a couple of 9 minute long songs which is stretching it far if you know Green Day or any punk for that matter, The songs are usually short. Well I am rambling...I am going to go. But not until I say Fridays suck for me since I have to work at 6am on Saturday. Even though I leave at 12 it still puts a damper on me going out late. I am a night person and I thrive at night. Oh and I also got the new Star Wars DVD set...I am not sure if I mentioned that in my earlier posts. I have watched the shit out of it. I also realized how lame Return of the Jedi was. I would like to quote Dante in Clerk's who said this about which he like better...Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi.

"'Empire' had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All 'Jedi' had was a bunch of Muppets."

Spoken like a true pessimist. Word up...hee hee.

Re: OK...Review time
I love the night as well, I don't like to get up early. Enjoy your Green Day album, I'm sure it's very good. I like them as well, I'm not really a Cd addict, I usually just listen to the radio or something. Dvd's are nice though :-)  I love watching movies, I hardly watch tv. I'm a pessimist, but really an optimist at heart, though I do expect horrible things to happen. That's one of my bad habits. I hope you continue with the blog entries. Hugs

I like to say I'm not a pessimist, just an optimist with experience. I never buy cds either I just download whatever I fancy at the time. I jave quite an eclectic range of mp3s. But I can't live without my dvds as well, I have got quite a collection amassed. I LOVE movies.

Re: OK...Review time
I think I've seen about three movies in my lifetime, including "That Darn Cat". Really, I haven't seen much. I also didn't know Green Day was coming out with a new album, but I suppose that's only simple logic because they just released a new single. Duh. I like them, maybe I'll arse myself into buying it : D

Who said I paid for the album? I don't pay for anything in my collection with the exception of the Star Wars set, but the way I see it keeps me busy and in the house watching it. So the 40 dollars I spent is well worth it because I wont be spending any money while I am inside watching it will I?
