When i was a kid, my parents would listen to Billy Joel's greatest hits a lot, but even though those are really the only songs I know by him, i wouldn't leave just because I don't know the others. I don't know if you saw, but I posted a list recently of all the bands that my mom and I could think of that i've seen live and I know I'm missing some. I was there through all of Paul McCartney, all of the Rolling Stones, all of the Who (actually, i was sick that night and ended up having to go to the bathroom and missed my favorite song by them.
). I had a total of 68 artists on that list and unless a band totally sucked, *cough, Puddle of Mudd, cough* I stayed and watched the whole set. I don't understand people. I mean, you could discover a new song you didn't even know existed and love it. that's happened to me a couple of times. Besides that, you payed for the show, at least.

I think it's really cool that Billy Joel talked to the crowd between songs. Paul McCartney did the same thing, and it was great because it added to the level of intimacy and he had some really awesome stories to tell, to. it was one of the best concerts i've ever been to. I'm glad you had a good time-other than people- and although it's doubtful i hope i can see him perform one day, too.
I don't know I agree. I mean, I'm sure he has every right to play just what he wants, but one wonders if maybe he doesn't have a duty to his fans who love certain songs of his and came to hear those songs in particular.
The man has so many hits though that it would take him 4 hours to play them all. Nobody is going to be on stage for four hours. I mean I just think that he doesn't owe it to anybody. He retired and is only doing this tour for him and his big fans.
I agree. Only, I suspect a lot of people bought those tickets with the expectation of being able to hear some hits live. I think the whole buy a ticket, go to a concert thing is like a promise of sorts. To put it simply and a little crassly, it's a promise that you'll get to see a better version of something that you already like.
Well he did play hits...he opened with one and then played about ten after he did all the ones he wanted to.
Really its just one guy. He's amazing. You may have heard "Touched" it was on "The Beach" soundtrack and played in every trailer.
Ahhh yes...I remember. I loved that movie. Decaprio is a phenonmenal actor. I loved his stuff "pre-Titanic". Of course he has done some good ones after as well.
