Summer Class Update - My 4th of July - Why No Liv These Days?

Luckily the arm thing seems to have gone away.

Only two more weeks left of my Summer class and then it's all over. Not long after that I'm off to Chicago. I always feel slightly nervous about that.

Fourth of July yesterday. Hope everyone had a good one. We didn't do much. The Strip didn't even have fireworks this year. But Station Casinos put on fireworks displays from each of their casinos in the city. The new Red Rock Casino is one of them and we live just 3 blocks from it, on the same street. There is a little park a block up so 10 minutes before the fireworks were to start we rushed out of the house, rushed to the gas station around the corner to get ice creams and then rushed to the park. There were quite a few people there but not a ton. It is a small community park tucked away towards some tract houses so it's not like it's some major park everyone goes to for fun and games all the time. Just people that live right there. You have a perfect view of Red Rock Casino from the park but we sat kinda down on the hill because up on the top there are lights that were bothersome. From down more, where we were, the view was more obstructed by the houses and trees between us and the casino. Ah well, so we missed the finale. It was alright still. Would have been tons more fun if we weren't rushing. Next year we plan ahead more.

What's funny is we have been asking each other for weeks where we will go for Fourth of July. I just wanted to go park some place further up in Summerlin where you get a good view of the whole valley and the Strip and chill on or in my car during the display. There are plenty places like that that you notice while you're driving around Summerlin but not many of them are places where you can park and chill. They're like... stop signs. lol.

So anyway it was nice anyway yeah.

I have a research paper to do for English and I have no idea what topic to do it on. I have to form a hypothesis. He says that since this is a shortened up 6 weeks summer course instead of a regular 14 weeks semester that we have much less time to do this project than he would normally allow his students, so we should pick something we are already familiar with but would like to just expand our knowledge about in a specific area but also to make it something we are interested in. I'm probably going to have to do something I'm not very interested in because when I think of what I'm interested in or what I have studied before it's guitars, tea, music (snoooooze), gender/sex studies, dreadlocks, .... Yeah. I tried to form a hypotheses for each of the last two topics I listed there but he said I need to narrow it down more still so it is a Research Paper and not just a Report. I need a hypotheses. Yes yes yes... eh. He said one was too narrow, my dreadlock one, and one was too wide, my gender identity one. I gotta find  a happy medium! So today and tomorrow I rack my brain about this so I can come up with something brilliant.

Well I will be going now. I don't like how I've been making such sporadic posts lately, it's not me... but ... yeah. I'll try harder! I'm not entirely sure why I don't update as often. I think it has something to do with not having as much alone time as I used to. I don't like to write with other people around, even if they might have access to my blog to be able to read the finished product... The process is my own private thing. So that could be part of it. And I'm a bit busier. But not much, so I can't really say that's it either. Just the alone time thing... I should at least be keeping a written journal. I don't think there as been a time in my life for the past like 7 years where I haven't kept some kind of journal. Especially in these last 4-5 years. Now all the sudden I'm just totally falling out of it. :(

Well hope everyone is well. Sorry I've been bad at keeping in touch.. My computer use at all lately is extremely sparse. I use it only when I need to, only last night did I actually spend some time sitting at it and reading, wasting time. It was nice. I miss a lot of the things I used to do and be involved in on here... Especially MindSay.
