There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so. -- William Shakespeare

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Just applied to five jobs. One I really want – it’s just an Administrative Assitant position, but it’s in an OBGYN office and the work environment seems like it’d be amazing, just judging by the listing and checking out their website. I get a good feel from it. It’s a bit of a drive for me – and I can see how that would put an employer off. But I plan to follow up especially to that one in particular sooner rather than later. I meet every single one of their qualifications, and then some. And I’d be making way more than I do right now, doing way less work.

I’m just tired of working my ass off for nothing. It’d be one thing if it was for something – but it’s not. Restaurants suck for that. You work until your feet are about to fall off, and then you can’t even afford to take a vacation.

My grandparents gave me a $100 check for my vacation. I feel like my grandpa feels like he owes me something for everything I do to help them. But I really just do it because I care about them. At the same time, I feel like he’d think I was rude if I didn’t gracefully accept what he offers in return. Anyway… my family believes in karma, so he probably kind of feels like he has to pay off karmic debt for me helping. Whatever. Fuck it. I used to be embarrassed and feel awkward taking money from them, but if they offer it – why not?

Anyway. Keeping fingers crossed about a new job coming up soon. Back to work tomorrow for 5 long days, then I’m leave to Vegas and Cali. <3

Oh yeah? What part of California? I live near San Francisco. Good luck on the job search.

SoCal, Temecula area to be specific. I was born in Indio, then my mom moved from the desert and I grew up in Temecula. I only went to San Francisco once when I was pretty small, but I’d love to go there again now that I’m older. I have a few friends who went to college up there, they all loved it!

It’s always SoCal haha. My experience of out-of-state folks coming to CA it is often that they go to SoCal. Fuck yeah vacation, though.
