ohhhhhhhhhhh...see, i did not know that...you learn something new everyday...
i did not know there was a month set aside for masturbation...
or that easter had pagan practices mixed in with it (though i admit, i think it's brilliant! christmas does, too...right?)...
and i did not know mayday was about thrusting a phallic symbol into the earth and frolicking (sp?) about...
i will now sleep much much better...thank you...
Hahah. Yeah, I actually just happened upon that bit of information last year. I thought it kind of odd, but whatever.
And yeah, Christmas does as well. Basically how that happened, or most think it did, was that when Christianity was coming to rule, there were already all these days of celebration pagans had. Instead of mixing everything up, early Christians just adopted the relative dates of pagan celebration that already existed to make the transition for people converting easier and quicker and the old pagan practices easily got mixed into the new Christian ones. I'm not sure how true that is, but kinda makes sense...
But yeah, sleep well! Sorry I left so fast when we were chatting earlier. My mom was really mad. Anyways: thanks and I hope you had a g'night (since by the time you read this it will be tomorrow...).

oh those pesky chrisitians always seem to steal and convert EVERYTHING...
so but yeah, i think i read/heard somewhere that the christmas tree with lights is a pagan practice...
but really, we all know that jesus was born under a christmas tree that was sprinkled with magic star dust...duh!
i need sleep, lol...sorry...
Yeah, well I'm not so sure about the trees, but the lights are, surely. Pagans celebrate the Winter Solstice or Yule and it celebrates the birth of the Sun God, so many light a lot of candles on that night to welcome him back. So yeah, that's where the lights come from.
