I'm glad that he is doing better and the problem has been taken care of.
Our Bichon had bladder stones and had to eat a special diet after her surgery. Luckily she never had to have another surgery, but I know that some dogs have to go through this process 3-4 times in their life.
When I went to visit him, he was doing good :-) He had come out from under the anesthesia so he was alert and even stood up for me - ready to go home. When I first walked back he was resting, but as soon as he saw me his tail started wagging. *smiles* He has three layers of stitches - the doctor said about 20 in all and although he is on his pain patch, he still is in some pain. He tried barking and ended up in a cry... He has an iv, but with the help of a vet tech to carry the bag, he went for a walk and was able to pee. It wasn't a real strong stream, but the vet said that was because his bladder had stretched out so far. However, he also said that his bladder is very elastic and will snap back up there tight and then he should get a good, strong stream when he goes. I called this morning to check on him and the vet tech said that he did have a strong stream today and that he was being walked every 2 hours. They are being good to him. He also has eaten and has no problem with his new diet... so, tomorrow is the big day.... I get to bring home my little bundle of love. I know I probably went into more detail than you wanted to hear *sorry* I do appreciate you asking.
That was the perfect amount of detail. I'm so glad to hear your boy is doing so well, and that you get to bring him home tomorrow.
He is so beautiful and the one being in the world you KNOW will not let you down. I am so glad that you caught it in time and that he will fully recover.
