So right... to start most of you know I get up around 3am usually to be to work by 4 am.... (this varies slightly some times) I went to bed at about 10:30 after getting the baby to sleep.... Daddy was late at work and not home before I went to bed but this happens from time to time... And as per my usual I woke with my alarm clock at 2:45.... After hitting my snooze twice I noticed that I was hearing a noise which for the past 15 minutes I had thought to be one of the 5 cats playing. My honey was not in bed himself and was out in the living room... this also is not uncommon..... but this noise got my attention when I realized that it did not sound like the typical cat scurrying around with a toy....
So I sit up only to see my 9 month old daughter standing on the floor at the end of the bed........ With her very first candy cane in her little sticky hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!............
Ok so how the hell did this happen you might ask??? considering she had been in bed asleep last I knew, and the hall way is gated off, and the candy cane.... hanging on the tree..... Apparently Daddy had found the baby was awake, and being a good daddy he got her out of bed, and changed a poopie diaper (the reason why she had woken up) She, as will happen when this occurs, was too awake to go right back to sleep, so he had given her a bottle (in hopes it would knock her back out) and settled on the couch with her......
While she drank away Daddy fell asleep, and our little night time candy thief got down off the couch and Daddy.... played a bit, stole the candy cane off the tree..... struggled with the plastic, successfully I might add as I foound bits of it all over the house.... Then further realizing that she could get away with what ever proceeded to get through her gated hallway and down to our room she came!! Finding me there is when she started to try and get my attention..... hahaha... all the while Daddy was out cold still holding the position he had had while giving her a bottle well over 2-3 hours ago by this point.....
And I can not say that I was mad by this because it was just too funny, mostly because it was so unexpected.... though I think new plans are in order for night time awakenings like this.... but to date it is one of the funniest and most clever thing she has done thus far and I had to share with you all....
