What is that?

Re: Seen better days...
An old (broken) drainage structure at an old, ruined factory or mining facility close to where I went to school.  I'm not exactly sure what the facility used to be, but there's not much left of it.  The only thing still intact is the stack in the background.

Re: Seen better days...
Did you break that, lol.  It looks pretty cool....Is it a drainage system?

Re: Seen better days...
Haha, not that strong, and I'm definitely not that heavy!

Yeah, it was some sort of drainage system for an old factory or mining facility.  There's not much left of it anymore.  That stack in the background is all that's still intact.  There's still a concrete floor, and one wall that's pretty much all there.  It's not the greatest picture, but here's the rest of the site.  This would be up the rise in the first two pictures, to the left of the stack.

Delapitated sights are always fun to explore.

Re: Seen better days...
Yeah, they are.  I want to go back now with my new camera.  These were taken with my old sony.  I doubt I'll get back anytime, soon though.  It's back by where I went to school.

Re: Seen better days...
One of these days I'm sure you'll visit the old area.  With new cam in hand.

Re: Seen better days...
I hope so, there's so much up there I'd love to have a good camera for!

Re: Seen better days...
I only went up there once, and I agree.  Its totally different.

Re: Seen better days...
Yeah, so much less traffic, and so much more nature

Re: Seen better days...
The no traffic part I liked as much as the nature.  It doesn't even seem like MI.  The geology, everything is different.

Re: Seen better days...
Yeah, it's way different.  But, to me, that is Michigan.  I guess it's just what I'm used to.

Re: Seen better days...
Yeah, its a pretty cool state.

Re: Seen better days...
Yup, I think so even more now that I'm not there...

Re: Seen better days...
You visit quite often though.  I bet its pretty nice there too.  Historically speaking.  I'd like to visit that part of the U.S. someday.

Re: Seen better days...
True, there are a lot of cool places to visit, but the nature aspect isn't quite the same.  Too much development, not to mention the difference in vegetation and landscape... but you're right, it's still pretty cool here.

Wow, that's messed up.

What is it anyway?

Re: Seen better days...
It's a drainage structure from an old factory or mining facility.  If you go through all the replies, I posted another picture showing the rest of what's left of it.

Re: Seen better days...
haha, I don't think the lens is quite that powerful, but it would be cool if it was!
