Torley WongI haven't showered or shaved this evening, and I'm still wearing the same clothes I wore to work - green khakis and overshirt, my blue Nike t-shirt, gray Nike shoes. The only concession I've made to hygiene is trimming my fingernails and that only because it needed to be done anyway.
Wait a sec, am I not going to a club for the first time in my life? Shouldn't I be putting on my best face? Well yes, if I was going out to pick up chicks, but that's not what I'm trying to do.
But will this really be an accurate test if I don't put every effort into it? *chuckle* Damned good question, and I'm not sure how to respond. I've actually been asking myself this for a few hours already this evening and I haven't come up with anything yet.
I'm going to listen to music and to support a friendly co-worker, since he's helped to organize it. The 'test' thing is really a side issue. Technically, I should make myself as attractive as possible to see if I can even persuade someone of the opposite sex to talk to me or dance with me. But realistically I'll probably sit at a table and watch all the pretty people dance.
So what is this really about? Is it about temptation? Is it about love? Is it about proving myself to
doomkitty ? Frankly, I'm not sure whether it's one, none, or all of them. What am I hoping to accomplish? Well, I'm hoping to go out and have a little fun, hear some good music, and if this can somehow indirectly bring Doomkitty and I closer, then all the better. :) I don't really have high hopes or expectations for this evening, I'm just kinda sitting back and watching the show, waiting to see what happens, and whether my predictions (in the last post) will be proven.
