My family tends to name children after other family members, thus there are 'family names' which are used over and over. I have a cousin who is 3 months younger than I am. We have EXACTLY the same first and middle and last name...being named after 2 of our great aunts - Kathryne and Mary. Not to add insult to injury but our social security numbers are similar as well......she however currently lives in Nevada. I reside in Texas. You think that would be enough to distinquish us one from the other but NOOOOOO. She happens to have bad credit and warrants out. I have excellent credit and have no run ins with the law....except that they often confuse the two of us. I have had my bank account garnished (they thot I was her), my credit cards confused with hers with mysterious balances deducted and purchases added when she hasnt' paid hers, credit reports co-mingled....etc, etc. It isn't pleasant in the least. However, at 55 I am hardly going to change my name, tho I use Kate and not Kathryne on all my legal documents in an effort to distinguish that I am me and not her (she uses Kathy I understand). Point being is that darlin' I feel your pain....and no....it doesn't get better but I carry with me a brief document which details that there are two of us with me and provide copies to agencies as appropriate. Most of the time it takes care of the issue, however sometimes they think I am jerking their chain and running a scam and in today's cybernet world....well it poses its own challenges. Good luck and glad your situation with um....He-who-shall-not-be-named has become only a memory.
Thank you for the wishes everythnig is already looking up
