For some reason my heart has been heavy. Maybe it is due to the ever prevalent way in which we as a people find joy in extinguishing a life we have no right to destroy. I closed my eyes and questioned if it is due to the constant and rising crimes at the hands of mothers against their children, women who for unknown reasons allow life to come through them but suffer with the unfound belief that by killing their own child they were actually saving them from harm.

As the tears fall I thought of a voice that refuses to allow my eyes to stay dry as his voice speaks life into dead souls. As I hear Dr. Martin Luther King I wondered allowed what the family and followers of Benazir Bhutto are feeling. In the midst of her assassination are her killers finding joy in their honorable work?

I open my eyes and pray that one day the words of this speech will become a reality for all people. A realization that the Jew and Arabic are both treated equally in their attempts to live their live. I pray for a new apple to fall from the tree that gives hope to people finding something powerful and majestic to fight for instead of the mirage of coins and paper we so easily chase.

I ask for the day that tears overflow from the eyes of mothers and fathers filled with joy, a joy so powerul and expectant simply because life moves forward instead of fearing the knock on the door that their child is no longer amoung them.

I often wonder if I might have the courage to hear his words during that time. I question the feeling of loss by his death by his followers. As anger and hate were not tools he lived by, what filled the hearts of  all people fighting for the rights of people as a whole.

What tears the marchers must shed as they look down at the path they paved being leveled and forgotten by those it was paved for

Re: Before February
snuggs brought up a great point Mrs. Bhutto knew her time was coming, I just find it disgusting that as much as we want change for the good its roll is slow.

P.S have missed you much MJ

Re: Before February
Snuggs is right, probably...she had been targeted before and survived. Then returned from her self imposed exile to be pardoned and make another attempt to right the wrongs she knew of. What a brave and wonderful woman she was.

It can be very disheartening to pray and pray for change but, don't despair, it is Biblical prophecy coming to pass. Change is coming... big changes.

Keep your faith D!

Blessings, MJ

So good to be seeing you again!

Re: Before February
oh boy, lil fishy....carrying the weight of the whole world on your shoulders tonight, innit?  the world is just a sad place sometimes.  and i think horrible things have always gone on; we just know more about them now because of globalization and a hungry media.

re: mrs. bhutto.  i think she probably always realized that her death would come in a violent way; it was always a question of *when* not *if*.  she was too much of a in-your-face threat to too many unenlightened people.  hopefully, while her corporal body is no longer with them, her followers will take up her work and her dreams.   the saddest thing would be for them to go back to the same ol' same ol'...that would make her death meaningless and she deserves so much more than that.

(((((((((((fishy and rottenweilers)))))))))  hug each other close tonight....in a day or three, you will read something incredibly amazing that will lift your heart.  as a matter of fact, go to whatethelsays  and scroll down a lil bit until you see where she says, "it's things like this that keep me from giving up on the human race" or words to that effect.  there will be a link there to a very special story.  about a pastor and his *talents*.  it will make you feel better, trust me.

Re: Before February
I hope your right and instead of fearing or being used to the way things are they pick up her torch. I am headed to that blog and Nina Simone and Smokey both say thank goodness they have lightheaded aunt snuggs to look for when mommy is way to much. (with no one else to cry on I tried to hug smokey and find comfort over mrs. bhottos death and smokey looked at me like why...why?)

Re: Before February
you tell smokey from auntie snuggs that it is in the *canine companion rulebook* that he comfort his mama when she is sad, even if he doesn't comprehend the why.  ahem.  that's treat demerits for him.

I pray for the same things. Just remember, as long as we, and others are as we are, praying for the peace and serenity of life there is always hope, and we shall carry it for those who no longer can. This is how we honor our greatest leaders.

Re: Before February
Your right. I guess it felt depressing at the thought of those willing to put their lives in jeapordy are constantly being torn down...but you are right we have to honor them the best we can.

thank you Andieland

Re: Before February
Thanks for this, sis.  Dr. King was an amazing man.  The world needs more like him.

Re: Before February
Yes he was. It is amazing that it has taken so long for someone else to pick up the torch, but then again we all have our own paths we are meant for.

Be blessed this weekend brother Smiley
