Wow! those are awesome photo's!
Huge herds, but none that crossed the road on this trip. We did see a stampede, though. . . pretty unusual - a huge herd of enormous animals running across the prairie. I'll see if I have a good video clip of that one.
Thank you for sharing those! I'm reconsidering my previous mindset that I didn't need to see any more national parks.
So glad, I am a lover of national parks, I guess- I always find that these places must be described in superlatives- always the most, the wildest, the largest.... Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Denali, Volcanoes, Glacier Bay, Cascades, Arches, Canyonlands, Zion, Bryce.... I am enthralled and amazed at every visit. I am currently planning a brief visit to a NP I have never seen- Yosemite. I have heard so much about the huge crowds- I am hoping they are not much worse than Yellowstone on the fourth of July weekend- many fellow admirers, but reasonable solitude, as well! I am excited to add yet another National Park experience to my life- perhaps it will become another favorite place....?
I've been to many of those as well, including Yosemite. I'd recommend waiting until September if at all possible. The summer crowds are awful. There is no solitude there at all.
Thanks for the advice.... I am reconsidering for various reasons (mostly weary of sitting in a car since my last cross country stint!) Someday I will go- is Spring (like March) a possibility there? or is it too cold?
I'm not sure the campgrounds in the valley are open in March. I'm sure the hotels are. As for it being too cold, I've camped in snow, so you can't go by my recommendation.
