They buried them Thursday.  Eight students were murdered at the Mercaz Harav yeshiva, a Zionist seminary in Jerusalem. The driver of the shuttle bus brought an AK-47 inside a box.  They’re reporting that his name was Alaa Abu Dhein.

One orthodox Jewish man was quoted as saying, "I want you to report this attack means something completely different to us because it wasn't on a bus or a coffee shop ... it was in the most sacred place for us Jews ... our religious school" (Fox News).

It’s hard for us to imagine here in the States what it would be like to be vigilant all the time, everywhere.  In Netanya, the city in which we lived, you were checked when you went into the local grocery stores and the mall.  However, we also shopped at a little bulk foods store where we were never checked.  I suppose that store and many others can  easily be attacked.

I’m sure security will now be increased at Mercaz Harav and that the grief will linger a very long time.

Re: The Mercaz Harav Eight
So, Jim, these victims of the tragedy clearly did not believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the only son of God. Will they therefore, in your opinion, spend all eternity in the torment of hell?

I know that God is a righteous and just judge.

You won't answer?

That was my answer.  I have no idea where these people who died will spend eternity.  God is a righteous and just God.

Ultimate perfect justice is one definition of god, Jim. You haven't been shy in previous posts about asserting that the Christian way being the only way. But this very real tragedy has touched you, and you are reluctant to trust the judgment of your heart. Too bad.

Hatred never ceases to amaze me.  I cannot fathom the deep-seated enmity between these (and so many other) people groups.  It boggles my mind, and sometimes I wonder how far it will go, ya know?  So pathetically sad!

I know what you mean, although I've had some pretty hateful thoughts in my heart, too.  Thankfully, that's as far as they've gotten, and I pray for help!  As for how far it will go, they've told us--the elimination of Israel.  Whether they can follow through on their claims is another matter.

Somehow, I think God will have the last word on that ... hmmm?
