Once, while in Hawaii, I saw this same moon rising from behind a hill...it was mesmerizing. Now, as awesome in memeory as it was the night I first saw it. I've told the story many times.

What a great shot, Jim! I usually check out the nasa pics, too ... just not quite up to speed these days! lol Ahhh ... but the moon and I go way back! Never been to Greece, though ...
THanks for sharing this.
THanks for sharing this. When I was a girl, I used to drive my parents nutts by wanting to sleep out every night in our back yard ... in the summer! We had a grove of sassafras trees out back, and in the center was a clearing just big enough for 2 or 3 sleeping bags. It was the coolest place in the world. The moon inevitably rose right overhead in the clearing framed by the treetops ... an excellent experience of God's creativity and design!
These days, I've told soldiergirl, any time she feels lonely, to look up at the moon and know I'm looking at it too ... but more significantly, her Father is watching over her! When we were there last month, we sat out under the moon and the stars ... by the hottub (that wasn't hot!) and it became a warm, intimate memory!
