Beautiful post. And yes, I am a hypocrite. A very Christian, very sinful hypocrite, who is most importantly, a forgiven hypocrite.
Thanks for your words which are always an encouragement!!
AMEN!!!
It was a great post—until the end when you took it all back and as usual belittled and accused others for their shortcomings.
If only you had stopped five lines earlier—but then you wouldn't be christianisrael.

Why is it that you continue to wage your war of words you who profess peace?
And why is it that I never have received an answer to my question?
What is Truth?
I don't believe I am a hypocrite, actually. No one said that Christians would be perfect; not even the Lord, actually. He said "be ye perfect, even as I am perfect" just as he breathed on the disciples and said "receive ye the Holy Ghost".....they did not receive the Holy Ghost at this time. They had to go and tarry until they be endued with power from on high, and it came ten days later. I believe this is how we become perfect. They that wait upon the Lord shall receive their strength, ....rise up with wings as of eagles...etc. The active word wait means service, like waiting upon tables. And sometime during this process we will be perfected.
Therefore, if we make mistakes, it does not make us hypocrites; it makes us humans, sinners saved by grace, yes, but not hypocrites. I am not in the same boat as the Priests, Sadducees and Pharisees. They twisted and changed God's word to suit themselves and acted holy when they were as whitewashed sepulchers, as John put it...I believe if we live for God earnestly and do our best, asking forgiveness when we err, we are not hypocrites, although that is what the world does call us.

Hypocrisy is defined by saying that one's behavior does not conform to one's profession of morality. Therefore, yes, if you say Doing X is Wrong and you do X (whatever that means), it puts you under the heading of acting in hypocrisy, or being a hypocrite.
We're forgiven hypocrites, but we're still hypocrites. <wry smile> I think it's easier for us to think in terms of being "sinners" because we can accept that label more easily than the other.
Saying "I'm a sinner" means I haven't lived up to what God has stated.
Saying "I'm a hypocrite" means I haven't lived up to what I say I believe. And that makes it more personal.

Ah, I see what you mean, Sandi. Yes, I do often make mistakes, or do what I say is wrong, as you have said, so I am a hypocrite, after all that...giggle.
Oh well, I am glad that I am a forgiven one, at least.
Sorry then Jim, for the argument!

Thanks for the response, Sandi. Well said, about the personal aspect of admitting we're hypocrites, as opposed to saying we're sinners.
