extraordinary machine
I used to clean my carpets but it's a fading memory. I did it at night when my spouse was out of town and my kids were asleep. It was awful, and the effect was probably just psychological ... I thought the carpets were clean. Roaches? How awful. I got silverfish one time from buying used books. Beware.
cleaning carpets is really more trouble than it's worth! it doesn't smell "cleaner" either, rather it smells like musty cardboard boxes. someone said to had a capfull of bleach next time. great idea, but i don't think there'll ever be a next time. heh.

They were hard to get rid of... until we got a cat. I think the cat thought they were mice.

Obviously the guys who rented your machine forgot to clean it before giving it to you.. that's really sad. I hate cockroaches. They're a plague around here.. that's the problem with sewers: it's a really safe place for all things dirty.
