why do I blog?.....

To get feedback, to unload, to feel connected, to broaden my support circle, to hear what others have to say, to be entertained. Just like getting a card in the mail would be exciting, it's equally nice getting replies on your blog.  So relevant or not, however random it may be.......feel free to leave a comment :)

I was coming back from bbq-ing at my sister's place, and there was this white BMW on my ass, hardcore tailgating me when getting on the on ramp to the highway. (which is hardly a good place to get into an accident)
I had to reaaaally fight the urge to tap my brakes........but he was so so close, he would have slammed right into my car guaranteed.  the only thing, I didn't want the headache of dealing with the aftermath especially to my pretty new car, so I was a good girl and didn't do anything but slow down drastically, and then he just zoomed past me.

If there was a squirrel or huge debri in the road that forced me to brake, I'd be telling you a different story right now.  Why is everyone in such a hurry?  He didn't get far, because the traffic ahead was stopped up anyways. I can be speedy and drive "efficiently" switching lanes here and there to get where I need to go, but I always make sure whatever move I make doesn't interfere or endanger anyone else on the road!

Just because you're well contained in a car, people feel it's okay to display rude or careless behavior with others.  Is that type of behavior acceptable if they were to be walking behind someone instead of driving behind someone?   People that display such impatience and aggression when driving, is one thing that if I learn of a person, I can quickly lose respect for, because really its says a lot more about the person than just how they drive.

Not too long ago, a guy cut in front of someone on the road.  So the car behind him decided to follow him... right into a shopping center parking lot (where I often frequent btw), and shot the guy dead! with the wife in the passenger seat as witness.  Was repairing his ego worth jail time and someone's life?  my goodness!

My roomate's good friend just died in a car accident last week, she was hit by a car that ran a red.  Her life was cut short, for what.... for someone to get home a few seconds faster?

Last week, I was driving to work when I saw this old granny walking along the sidewalk, with an umbrella.  I thought poor lady, has to walk on this cold rainy day.  Then I saw the car beside me turn right into the drive she was walking across, cutting her off by inches.  She was caught off guard at the oncoming car and she almost lost her balance.  I guess he couldn't wait for the couple of minutes that woman might have taken to cross the driveway.  I was shocked to see such rudeness and idiocy?!  What is wrong with people?

Well that's my rant for the day.  Onto nicer things.  I am going to try and clear out the so called "cobwebs" of my life.  starting with my massive pile of laundry.  wish me luck.  I have to catch up with everyone here also, I've been somewhat buried lately.  but hopefully I can come back in a better state.  Forget having a nice fulfilling life, it's a challenge to get the basics down sometimes, like food, water, getting up and looking decent enough for going out to the trash dump.  working on a few things today.  :)

Re:
chri this is a really good post.    i'm nominating it.  we all need to think about this... slow down a little & be more considerate of others.   i wonder if a factor in this is TOO MUCH OF WANT WE WANT AND NOT ENOUGH OF WHAT WE NEED?   You know what i mean, the quest for more more more, instead of paying attention to what we NEED and putting that first.   good post, chri and ty for helping us to think about this today.

thanks w.m.up!  I agree with you, we are so self consumed with getting our wants fulfilled that we overlook what's important.

I don't mean to make light of the situation but if you are running late, the last thing you want to do is run over someone. Dealing with cops, insurance companies and bloody corpses is a sure way of getting home very, very late.

Re:
A wise person once told me that assholes are born that way and they usually don't change. The best we can do is try to identify them early and make allowances for the expected oafishness. You did that by slowing downa and letting him pass. The thing about assholes is, they usually never change.
