Ms. doo doo brown is relatively new, 1.5 yrs. i have 3 years seniority on her in terms of my time there. she's 6 years younger than me. my supervisor took my job position away from me and gave it to her without more than a week's notice. ...which i'm fine with now knowing it wasn't my lack of performance, and i wasn't personally tied to that position. but the manner in which they did it was very upsetting to me. her and my supervisor have this nasty mother/daughter type of bond going. everybody in the office thinks its nasty and unprofessional how they carry on but nobody has the guts to say anything. my supervisor is not a nice lady...bitchy, spiteful, catty, two faced...everything you name it. i'd rather be stuck in a room with Ms. Doo doo brown, than my supervisor. i was actually close to her before things started evolving at the office. so the REAL problem here is the supervisor enabling all this crap to go on. people are afraid to go to her with any problems that might personally insult her managing capabilities..... a couple of people have been fired when they brought up issues. one for complaining to a doctor about how her work hours were slashed in half and not offered unemployment. not following chain of command and not going straight to the supervisor about it really insulted her. another (really lovely sweet woman) was fired for complaining that she was hired as the business manager but she felt more like a glorified secretary for the supervisor. both were legit and real complaints i'd say. call it a love for power....it's evil! heh.
sorry to unload all this in my reply to you...:S but a fresh outside perspective is always welcome

Maybe you should go to her (the supervisor's) boss and explain everything. Tell him what happened to those that had -tried- to talk to the lady and then were rudely fired. I don't see why even that you were taken out of the old job and replaced with someone new. If you were doing fine, then they shouldn't had a reason to do so. Unless the supervisor lied to her boss(es) about things and got her own way with things. But with that, why?
Uh... I'm just asking this just because I wanna clear up things... Is the supervisor taken?
Ms. doo doo brown jsut keeps dropping comments like, 'I know the big picture of what's in the future for this office.....you guys don't know the plans for this office". and as far as going to the supervisor's boss....she's got him wrapped tightly around her finger too unfortunately. btw, she has a dried up marriage that she keeps together cuz she's very conservative, has 3 grown sons, and can have an innocent affair with another married man. ...
i'd be fine with everything if she only showed some regard and respect for the rest of the office too! people say i'll only find the same problems, same office politics anywhere i go, just w/ different people. but this woman is definitely one of a kind.... maybe i should just block out everything. ignorance is bliss right?...
....thanks for listening and commenting

Affair? Ew. Especially since he's married too. Thats just grody.
*shrugs* There are people like that everywhere you go, but they each have their own degrees of retardness. And she thinks she's highly wise and above you all... just ignore her (and be "better" then her) and when a problem ever comes up, just do what you gotta do. What feels right and all that junk. If she tells you to do something, but you think that another way is right and others think so too...then if you can without getting fired, do what you do and show her up. Woot.
Doesn't she have more then one boss?
You could try to gather an under-signed and take it to the supervisor so it wouldn't be a Katty vs. Christine, but a Katty vs. office conversation. Or you could try to do focus on your tasks and try hard to not let this issues upset you. I think that both approaches are brave and honorable.
I'm glad too that you have a blog. Good luck with the drug rep

(hope you get free drugs that you can put on the coffee of the devil..)
and that's a great idea... i know most of the office would agree with everything i'd write in a letter.... but would they be brave enough to sign it and back me up on it. not sure about that one. i'll play it by ear.

You could do an anonynous pre-under-signed poll. But that would be a long walk for something that would probably work better with a direct aproach.
But like I said, training your brain to turn off when the devil is spitting sulphur is a good option too. Meditation.. they say it works. (but not for me)
