I'm going to see what I can do to drive at least some traffic to your blog. I know what it's like to feel like no one is visiting, reading or responding to you... and I want you to stick around, so lemme see what I can do here. :-)
and thank you! happy easter to you too! did you have a nice holiday? mine went well, although im getting over a cold i went to my dads side of the family (whos a little nuts, but whos family isnt? *laughs*) and we had a bunch of good food which was nice.
What is the John Adams miniseries? Was it good? Are you training for something now that would require more protein? I have never had a protein bar, but yeah, I am not a big fan of candy bars myself either. I love fruity desserts, especially in pastries!! But I have to say that I would take BOTH a strawberry shortcake & a German chocolate cake too =)
So how have you been? Hopefully all is well.
Well its just the book John Adams book by Dave McCollough spread out into 8 episodes on HBO starring Paul Giamotti. Its not too bad - i heard the first 4 episodes are kind of stiff but they were still entertaining but after that its supposed to be better for the last 4, The 5th episode is on this Sunday so hopefully it should be good! Well I am currently not training for anything but i have to have a very low fat diet so i gotta make up for it in carbs and protein and i love my protein lol! Protein bars are good, nothing special unless you find a good flavor you like - they have some really good and different flavors by many different brands = P lol, hey whatever boats your float!
I am okay, things are going well. I am starting to gain weight in leaps and bounds actually and soon things will be on the ball and my life should be back to normal (I am ready yesterday lol!). Ill be able to do activity and stuff like that. I am also looking better, granted i was never looking bad but even though i have gained just 4 lbs (in one week - thats freaking fast, which is supposedly supposed to happen but i am just worried that it might be too fast.) i look fuller. Yesterday I saw 'Run Fatboy Run' with my mom and sister and it was great! It was just as good as i thought it would be! Critics dont know anything lol, the movie didnt get good reviews in the newspapers and magazines but it was a very good movie.
Thank you for asking how I am! Overall, i guess i am okay but i have been better. How about you?
Good luck and don't be a stranger. I recommend you look up sandyquill . She welcomed me in when I started and that was almost 4.5 years ago now.
haha oh well, thank you for the reply! But! If you don't, then there are ways to move beyond your space. <smile> I'll have to read up on your blog to see what you enjoy, but there's always a way.
Blogging here is great fun, as well as other interactive sites. Remembering always, of course, the old adage that you get out of something what you put into it.
Welcome to MindSay!

yeah i mean i kinda like my alone time and i dont need to be a social butterfly but im starting to realize my social isolation is just a little too much.
Your right, that is a good saying, thank you for that! ; )
haha! We were able to kinda choose any topic as long as it somehow involved overcoming something. I am doing mine on alternative fuels and resources.
Are you into video games or anything, or have you read any good books lately? is there a specific genre that interests you? Seen any good movies lately?
I read just about anything but biographies. BUT I did read John Adams' bio by David McCullough and REALLY enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.
I read fantasy and science fiction, historical fiction, and assorted types of literature.
I like Anne McCaffrey (Pern is my other home, lol) and David Weber, Eric Flint and Stephen Lawhead. What about you? I also just saw I Am Legend with Will Smith.
Oh yeah thats a good movie! I liked it but i guess i just built it up in my mind too much because i remember walking out of the theater slightly disappointed.
I love The Pendragon Cycle. Merlin is one of my favorite books of all time, truly. I just finished reading it before Easter. Have you read Lawhead's Robin Hood books? Hood and Scarlet? I preferred the latter to the former, myself.
Legend did not leave one feeling happy and hopeful, so I am not surprised at your disappointment. I saw the "happy" ending on DVD and was disappointed more with THAT, though, so I think they did the right thing ending it the way they did for the theatrical release.
Read Johnny Tremaine (taught it, too, lol) but never the Sarah Byrnes story. Read the Lemony Snicket series my own self with my son when he was younger. We enjoyed them immensely.
Have you read Ender's Game? Totally OUTSTANDING story, in my opinion. I've read the cover off of at least three copies. lol
I have not read the Robin Hood books, i might have to check those out - thanks for the reccomendation!
Yeah, about I am Legend, sadly i think its better that he didn't make it - although i would have wanted him to dont get me wrong, but its almost more realistic with him getting taken over. Its sad but it almost had to be done, no victory comes without sacrifice. He would have had to do something really super awesome for the audience not to be like 'oh that was corny' for him to make it. You saw the dvd extra edition? I might rent the movie again so i wont ask how it happened haha.
Oh thats cool that you taught jhonny tremain! Im glad you enjoyed the Lemony snicket books. I was given the last edition a couple of years ago but for some reason i wasnt able to finish it, maybe i am just growing out of it.
Enders game huh? Never read it, I think ill check it out. Who wrote it? haha oh wow, it must be a really good book!
Thanks for the recommendations! My sister likes to read horror/ghost/suspense stories and her birthday is coming up soon so I am getting her a book i saw at a bookstore about a month or two ago. Its called 'Haunted', if i recall correctly it is a collection of short stories told by people both scary and somewhat humerous which i hope she will like.
What about music? Im not really ver 'hip' i guess when it comes to music - i like a whole bunch of different stuff. I like '80's, and some recent stuff. One genre that does not float my boat is country though, sorry i dont think she thinks my tractors sexy...although ill get anything i can at this point *laughs* just kidding!
I wouldn't be surprised if you don't have a bit of depression after dealing with your health issues and the isolation of Spring Break w/nothing to do. Use this time off to help restore your weight to something closer to normal and rest/recuperate. Think of it this way... When you go into the work force, there aren't many jobs that have spring breaks/winter breaks/summer breaks.
Keep your chin up!
Yeah i definetly do think i have some sort of depression or maybe even bipolar, because i can be in the worlds best mood one day and something small might happen or i might think about something and i wont want to do or talk to anybody for the next week.
Thats a good idea regarding break. Use it as a time to gain back some health, size, and happiness. Your right, breaks dont last forever. I only have 2 more years of high school after this (which in a way im looking forward to leaving kind of!)
Thank you!
So, have you gained any of your weight back yet?
No i havent gained any weight back yet but im not losing any more and my bowel movements are becoming regular which is a good sign. There are a few more details that i will refrain from because they are kind of gross but we figure that after the regularity, other things will start to become more normal which is keeping me hopeful...it can just be hard though at times....
