I had posted this on New Years, but I was asked to repost it again. I tend to babble a bit, but try to stick with me. Thank you for your time!

A year ago New Years Day...(Jan 1st 2005) It is long, but worth reading.

I want you to take a moment and think to yourself.  I want you to think of where you are today and what you have and the people that surround you.

Ask yourself, Are you where you want to be in life?  Are you happy?

If you answered No to either question you may need to make some changes in life.

Don't say you will do them.  I mean actually DO them.

The only way things are going to change is if you do something about it.

I believe that everything happens for a reason.  However, Fate will only take you so far and then you have to decide where to go.

Just know that it is never to late to make a change.

Take a risk.  Everyone makes mistakes.  We all learn from them.  You don't know til you try. Right?

So you are probably wondering why I am posting all this stuff?

Well some would understand while many may not until you are in this situation.

Here is my story:

Last year (Jan 1st, 2005)  I spent New Years eve in Chicago with friends.  I wasn't feeling well when we left the day before, but thought it was just a cold and I'd overcome it within a day. Or so I thought...

New Years Eve I was in a great deal of pain and my symptoms seemed to worsen by the minute.

Headache, back pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, all over body aches, dizzy spells, difficulty breathing, etc.

I stuck it out through the night until I was in so much pain I was keeled over on the floor in fetal position crying.

My friend decided to drive me home at 4am New Years Day from Chicago to Clarkston.

I thought I had a Kidney infection.  Again, or so I thought.  I was treated at POH in Oxford for a Kidney infection. I was sent home that night.

I received a call the next morning at 8am from the nurse at POH telling me to get to a hospital right away.  My infection was more severe than just a Kidney infection.

I called my sister to come pick me up.  We arrived at North Oakland Medical Hospital in Pontiac.  I was admitted  within an hour of sitting in a wheelchair in the waiting room.  Just as I was pulled into emergency room a doctor asked, "Is she wearing blue lipstick?" My sister replied, "No?".  Immediately they gave me oxygen.  Instantly I lost consciousness.

I awoke a day later in ICU (Intensive Care Unit).  I had a fatal infection called SEPSIS "septic shock"

I spent 4 more days in ICU before I was transferred to another floor.  I was hospitalized for more than a week.  I was seen by 8 different doctors/Specialists.  After I was released I spent 3 additional weeks in the care of my sister.

It has been a long road to recovery.....

I am told I am a fighter;  I had a will to live;  God wasn't ready for me just yet.  I like to say, "my work here on earth isn't finished.  For I have been given a second chance".

I have made several changes in my life since then.  New career.  Better health.  New relationships. etc.

Cherish life and all that it brings.  For you never know when it will slip away without a warning.

It's scary to think I had to be so close to death to realize how precious life actually was.  I hope none of you ever have to endure the pain and suffering that I went through.

Take control of your life and make it good.  Be HAPPY!  Make necessary changes in life to achieve your goals and dreams.  Don't waste time complaining and dwelling on things that bring you down or control you.

Just when you think no one cares.  Someone actually does.  His name is God.

Those of you that don't believe in the Saviour Jesus Christ that is fine.  Just know there is always someone out there that cares.  You just may not be paying enough attention to notice...

Well I know you now. lol.

Thank you very much for commenting.  I left out much detail. I wanted to keep it simple and to the point.  I tend to babble on a bit, but hopefully when people read it they understand the pain and suffering I went through and yet how strong I was to survive it.

Have a great day!
