Lets go march on DC and demand a new party. This 2-party system has had quite enough. We can call our party the "Champocrats", and I'm sure we'll be opposed by "Uncleublicans"

And then it'll de-evolve back into a bloated 2-party system, where I become either a corrupt fat-cat, or an environmental terrorist who kills anyone who cuts down a tree, while my arch-nemesis institute a scorched earth policy and procure copious funding from mult-national corporations thereby instituting in a new era of bigger and worse corruption.

Which has me wondering if anything in the current poltical system can change, regardless of overthrowing parties or bringing in a third or fourth option. Since they get funding from lobbyists and big business, they eventually become nothing more than a megaphone for that business.

And history is littered with good intentions and changing affiliations. It may surprise people to know that once the Democratic party was highly endorsed by the KKK while Republicans were abolitionists.

Now, how the tables have turned, but both are still holding fast to the teat of big business.

The only option I see is to do away with allowing corporations to have personhood. Public financing of campaigns.

Maybe it's time to bring back the "Know-Nothing" party.

I believe this one is already taken...

I know nothing.

I'm the type that would readily admit it too. Sometimes I'm too honest.

I like your punitive names champocrats and uncleublicans, it was semi-cute.  But I was just wondering were you ever happy when say the Democrats held the House, Senate and White House?  Or do you just like arguing for the sake of opposition?  I am also wondering, do you like me as a person at least in what your conclusion have become over the year?  I am just curious, that's all.

here's the only way to change things...

competition is the key of course:

the Liberal/Green or whatever has to really challenge the Democratic party while at the same time the Conservative/Libertarian or whatever has to really challenge the Republican party.

As long as someone who is a liberal or a conservative feels that they have to vote for a Democrat/Republican respectively or otherwise completely surrender to the other party Rep/Dem respectively  there will be no change.
