Shameful frogs (toads):

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4716252.stm

They should find something that eats their eggs (dragonflies, perhaps)....other than that, it's pretty hard to kill a toxic toad.

Toxic Toads. That's a good name for a band.

Are these the Cain toads in australia?  I was pretty sure they were indigenous, not introduced. That was the whole basis for suprise, they'd been there all along and only suddenly became a problem.  Causes a nasty problem with crocodiles. They don't induce a survival selection and theres no chance for learning behavior. One taste and its enough to kill.

Introduced to control some sort of insect pest.

Seems almost fitting. They introduce them to keep down the beetle population...and instead they invade and take over... it'd make a very humorous cartoon. The Queen Toad -(The one with the longest legs of course) commanding her legions to overtake and rule the neighboring areas... Is like the next step up from Mertle the Turtle.
