Hard to believe it's been eight years since 9/11/01. I won't go so far as to say that it "seems like just yesterday," but it sure doesn't seem like eight years. Then again, the older I get, the faster time seems to go by... one of the grand injustices in the universe.
Some good news today, though. I got "the call" from Walden University. I've been accepted into the Masters program. Classes start in December, as I believe I said in my last entry. I'll have to do two 6-day residencies, most likely in Minneapolis. The first one will be in the second week of March. Not happy about using a week of vacation for school, but whatever. The cool thing about it being in Minneapolis is that I have a friend who lives just outside of there. I've known him online for... geez... twelve years or so. But we've only met in-person once, and that was very briefly. Be nice to hang out with him for more than half an hour.
So I'm not currently riding my bike. Kinda hard to do without a seat.
Yeah, some fucktard stole my goddamn seat. And seatpost. And no, I can't even get replacements from the company, so I'm getting totally different equipment for it.
I hate humans.
I picked up my mail this afternoon and was surprised to see two Netflix shipments in there, for two reasons. 1) Though I have a Netflix subscription, I'm on the one-at-a-time plan. 2) I already have one sitting on my table.
I pulled them out and looked at the address, figuring the mailhuman put it in the wrong apartment box. Well, yes and no. The apartment number was right. But the street number was wrong. They should have gone to the building next to mine.
So, doing my good deed, I walked them over to the converted Victorian. Walked upstairs and knocked on the door. The neighbor opened the door...
...in her underwear.
Yeah.
She thanked me for bringing her DVDs over.
