I'm Adopted

Well... yeah.  Literally.  But beyond that, I've just been adopted by a kitty.

It's been three years since Tristan died, and I felt it was about time for me to share my life with an animal again.  So I answered an ad on Craigslist. 

His current caretakers, Derek and Elizabeth, brought him over to my place about an hour and a half ago.  He's a cutie... between nine and twelve months old, black and white tuxedo...  They named him Magellan, but that's not gonna stick.  Since they only had him for three weeks, I don't think he's become too attached to the name.

He's mostly been exploring the apartment in a very wide-eyed fashion.  Not interested yet in food or water, though he has used the litterbox, and I'm glad to see he's fastidious about covering up his business.

The air conditioner has him fascinated... at least, when it comes on and when it goes off.  He looks all around for the cause of the noise, or lack thereof.  He's a talker, too, which is kind of neat.

Not sure, yet, how much of a cuddle cat he's going to be.  Right now, he's too distracted by a new environment to worry a lot about me.  But he's friendly enough.

We'll see how things fare, but I have a good feeling about him.
