I think it's quality, not quantity.

best.  i'm ok with all my really good friends, but i like having someone there i can tell everything to--and only them.

I think it is good to have a lot of friends and to be sociable and all, but like Rach said, it is good to have one or two really super close friends that you can tell everything to.
