So during my nine years living overseas, I used to always be a touch amused whenever I'd read (in the American press, by people who weren't living overseas) how much everyone outside of the US hated us. By my experience (gained by, I don't know, actually LIVING outside of the US) that was definitely not the case. But here is a nice explication of my viewpoint.
